Category: FLAG

Competitive surfers in the 1960's were identified by large numbers on their jerseys.  The numbers were set in a bold, slab typeface and in high-contrast black and white.

This hand-made flag uses a washed canvas with hand-screen printed numbers and a US Surfboard Championship patch. Each flag is topped with a natural twine + twill tape and stamped with Slightly Choppy branding.

Colors: Natural and Black

Ellie L. ★★★★★

The bold slab lettering looks sharp from across the room, just like the vintage surf photos that inspired it. The black-and-white contrast is striking, and the flag feels sturdy enough to hang outdoors without worrying about it fading quickly.

Penelope T. ★★★★★

These numbers are so crisp and bold against the white fabric, it really captures that vintage surf look perfectly. I hung mine in the living room and it's already getting compliments from everyone who sees it.

Julian R. ★★★★★

The black-on-white contrast really pops against my garage wall, and the bold slab numbers look exactly like the old surf contest photos. Stitching on the edges feels solid, not flimsy like some flags I've hung up. It's been outside a month and hasn't faded at all.
